How should lawn mowing be managed in Bulgaria?
Lawn mowing in Bulgaria should follow grass growth and weather conditions rather than a fixed calendar. Spring growth can require more frequent cutting, while hot and dry summer periods may justify longer intervals and a higher cutting height. For neglected properties, tall grass may need brush cutting before normal mowing can begin.

Who needs this service?
Our lawn mowing service is ideal if you own a property in Bulgaria but do not live here full time.
Many of our clients are foreign homeowners, villa owners, landlords, and property managers who need someone reliable to maintain the garden while they are away.
We can also help if your garden has become too overgrown for a normal lawnmower. In that case, we may use heavier cutting equipment first, then move the property onto a regular mowing schedule.
Regular lawn mowing
Regular lawn mowing keeps your garden easier to manage and cheaper to maintain.
If the grass is cut often, the work is faster, cleaner, and less expensive. If the grass is left too long, it usually needs strimming, clearing, and extra labor.
For most properties, we recommend lawn mowing during spring, summer, and early autumn.
Overgrown grass cutting
If your property has not been maintained for months, we can help clear the grass and bring the garden back under control.
For overgrown land, we usually ask for photos or a short video first. This helps us understand the size of the area, the height of the grass, access to the property, and whether heavier equipment is needed.
Areas we cover
We provide lawn mowing services in Sofia, Etropole, Veliko Tarnovo, Botevgrad, Pravets, Central Bulgaria, and nearby villages.
For larger rural properties, we can review the job first and give you a practical quote before starting.

Lawn mowing guidance for Bulgarian conditions
Bulgaria has significant regional differences in rainfall. The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) reports that average annual precipitation for the 1991–2020 climate period ranges from about 500–550 mm in some parts of the Danube Plain and Thracian Lowland to around 1,000–1,200 mm in mountainous areas. That variation matters when deciding how often grass should be cut and how quickly it is likely to regrow.
Recent conditions also show why a rigid mowing schedule does not work everywhere. NIMH reported that summer 2025 was Bulgaria’s driest since 1930. National rainfall in June was 74% below the climate norm and July was 68% below normal.
For routine mowing, the Royal Horticultural Society advises regular cutting so that no more than about one-third of the grass height is removed in a single mow. For badly overgrown properties, we normally reduce the vegetation in stages instead of forcing a standard mower through very tall growth.
For an overgrown property, grass height is only part of the job. Access, slope, hidden stones, saplings and the amount of cut material determine which equipment we start with.

Lawn mowing questions
How often should grass be mowed in Bulgaria?
There is no single schedule for every property. Growth rate, rainfall, temperature, irrigation, grass type and the condition of the site all matter. During active spring growth, mowing is usually needed more frequently than during prolonged hot and dry periods.
Can you cut a property where the grass is already very tall?
Yes. If the vegetation is too high or dense for normal mowing, we can start with heavier brush-cutting equipment and then move the property onto a normal maintenance schedule.
What affects the price of lawn mowing?
The main factors are property size, grass height, slope, access, hidden debris, obstacles, travel distance, green-waste volume and whether the work is one-time or recurring.
Can you maintain a Bulgarian property while the owner is abroad?
Yes. Many properties can be assessed from current photos or a short video, followed by scheduled maintenance and updates after the work is completed.
